Doug exceeded all our expectations!! He was extremely professional, made us so comfortable, and did an amazing job capturing our wedding day. We had Doug photograph our first look at the Sacramento World Peace Rose Garden and our whole ceremony and reception at the Firehouse Restaurant in October 2023. Working with Doug Miranda was the best! I found him by googling photographers that worked at our wedding venue (Sequoia Mansion in Placerville) and we liked the kind of shots that came up. My groom and I secured his services at the end of November for our wedding at the start of April. We were of course stressed with the holidays, then the wedding planning, plus our very busy lives. We felt bad, constantly being slow to respond but he was so very patient with us, helpful with reminders but also keeping emails short and sweet. We also loved that he had a special for a free engagement session but of course we needed reminding, flexibility with scheduling, and ideas for where/how to do it. I knew I wanted nature in the photos since our wedding would be mostly indoors and he gave us some suggestions and encouraged us to take a look at some specific spots and get back to him. He had the perfect spots in mind, and at the engagement session we got to really know who are photographer was, professional but also really cool and relaxed. He had great poses and notes for us and yet somehow made it feel very natural for us. In the end he got some great shots, in color, in black&white, up close, further away, sweet and loving, and yet also showing us surrounded by all that nature was putting on display. After doing this session, I knew he would be great at the wedding and he was. And just a couple more check-ins, he was there, capturing photos we wanted and didn't even know we wanted, with the people we were sharing it all with. We love the photos and we highly recommend Doug Miranda as your photographer for both your engagement photos and your wedding photos!

If you're getting married in the Sacramento/Napa/Lake Tahoe area and thinking about booking Doug, what are you waiting for?!? We hired Doug because we saw some of his previous work at our venue and knew he would scout out the best locations for our photos.

The entire process was made smooth because of Doug's friendly demeanor and clear communication. He answered all of our questions with grace and patience and is very quick to reply to email. Most of Doug's wedding packages include a brief engagement session which was nice because it allowed us to get to know him and become comfortable with his shooting style before our big day. The photos turned out great and we could rest easy for 9 months knowing we made the right decision.

On the wedding day, Doug brought his wife Christine along as his second shooter. They worked efficiently, capturing every detail of our day as our vendors set up and the bride and groom got ready. They also miraculously captured my entire family smiling in one picture, and were willing to work with my VERY scared and squirmy dog. Despite the brutally cold wind forcing our fall event indoors, we managed to capture some of the most stunning outdoor portraits after the ceremony, especially since they were willing to hike us up the side of a mountain to get my dream photos on a boulder in front of Lake Tahoe.

Doug and Christine make an excellent team and they even felt like our guests, posing for some Polaroids we had set out for our friends and family to use throughout the reception! Our photos were processed and returned within a record 6 days!!! We feel so lucky to have had Doug Miranda Photography as an integral part of our best day ever. Thank you for making our wedding photography dreams come true!!

Doug was the absolute best photographer we could have ever asked for! He was super relaxed and helpful during both our engagement and wedding shoots. He was great at telling us what to do and where to be, all while having a great energy. The photos came out better than we can imagine. He totally knew what to do for every event at the wedding and also knew our venue very well. Cannot recommend Doug enough!

I can not recommend Doug enough! He was extremely acomadating to my requests and schedule. He has an amazing eye to capture beautiful photos. He made the whole process fun and easy. My husband and I give him 5 stars!! Would definitely hire him again!

Doug and the wedding photos were easily the least stressful aspect of planning our May 2023 wedding. His experience and professionalism were apparent from our first conversation and carried through to his quick turn around on the photos. What I personally appreciated about working with Doug was his ability to listen to what we wanted and work with us to recommend a timeline that would work for getting all the photos we wanted. His timeline was incredibly accurate and he kept a close eye-- far more so than our day-of coordinator at the venue-- on timing and light, getting us all the photos we wanted. Something else we appreciated about Doug was that he was everywhere but unobtrusive-- we got a ton of the candid shots we wanted interacting with our guests as well as the family portraits we requested. For two people who don't normally love being photographed,we were thrilled with the photographs. Doug also got the photographs turned around incredibly quickly, inside a week and in an easily-accessible gallery. When we had a medical issue pop up that might have delayed the wedding date, Doug was also super flexible and worked with us while we figured out the situation, which took some stress out of a stressful situation. We appreciate him as an artist and a vendor and can't recommend him highly enough.

Doug is an amazing photographer! He was professional, kind, calm and energetic while shooting on our special day. Our guest and family only had great things to say about him. Doug knows what he is doing! I am so grateful we hired him to capture the day. All pictures came out beautifully. 100% recommend him for your photography needs. You will not regret it.

Doug was an absolutely perfect choice for my husband and I at our wedding! He kept us calm and laughing through all of the photoshoots and through the whole event. He even agreed to let us bring our dogs along for the first look :). He captured the spirit of our wedding wonderfully! Also, we found out later that he has some personal stress going on during the wedding, but he was so calm and focused that we didn't pick up on it at all. You can count on Doug!

Doug did an outstanding job for my daughter's wedding at Suisun Valley Inn. He was always smiling, which put everyone at ease. He was professional, caught so many wonderful moments and hard working from start to finish. I highly recommend him!
